urlRNF has received a second grant from Google’s Freedom of Expression team to produce at least 12 original news, feature and commentary pieces exploring the global effects of religious intolerance, anti-Semitism, hate speech and violent extremism online.

Our first grant allowed Religion News Service to produce:

  • 12 news and feature stories investigating the global effects of religious intolerance and hate speech online.
  • One On Air and recorded Google Hangout event exploring how media professionals across Europe, the U.S. and beyond moderate online conversations that include religious hate speech without unduly restricting freedom of expression.
  • One ReligionLink guide advising editors how to best counter hateful sentiments online without stifling freedom of expression.
